La neurofibromatosis tipo 1 (NF1)<\/strong> es un trastorno gen\u00e9tico con una prevalencia m\u00ednima estimada en ni\u00f1os y adultos de 1 entre 3000 a 4000 personas en todo el mundo<\/strong> y est\u00e1 causada por una variante pat\u00f3gena en el gen supresor tumoral NF1<\/strong>.2<\/sup>\nLa NF1 es el m\u00e1s prevalente de los s\u00edndromes de neurofibromatosis conocidos<\/strong>, un grupo de trastornos gen\u00e9ticos asociados al desarrollo de tumores en los tejidos nerviosos.3<\/sup><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Los deterioros cl\u00ednicos frecuentes relacionados con la enfermedad<\/strong> NF1 son los neurofibromas plexiformes (NP),<\/strong> un tipo de tumor de la vaina del nervio perif\u00e9rico<\/strong> que puede ser muy invasivo.1<\/sup>Los NP suelen provocar discapacidades debilitantes relacionadas con la enfermedad<\/strong>, como dolor cr\u00f3nico, desfiguraci\u00f3n, compresi\u00f3n de \u00f3rganos internos, deterioro\nde la funci\u00f3n f\u00edsica y reducci\u00f3n de la calidad de vida (CdV) de los pacientes.4<\/sup><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Una complicaci\u00f3n especialmente grave de la NF1 es la posible transformaci\u00f3n de los NP en tumores malignos de la vaina del nervio perif\u00e9rico (TMVNP),<\/strong> que se producen en hasta el 16\u00a0% de los pacientes<\/strong> con NF1 a lo largo de la vida.6, 7<\/sup>\nLos TMVNP se asocian a una tasa de supervivencia general a los 5 a\u00f1os<\/strong> que oscila entre el 14\u00a0%8<\/sup> y el 50\u00a0% dependiendo del estadio y la resecabilidad, entre otros.6<\/sup><\/strong><\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
